Welcome to Bramble Lodge Day Nursery

We are a family run business and have lived in the Lymm area for over thirty years. After  the birth of Susie's first child in 1999, the family realised there was a shortage of Nursery places in Lymm that offered a homely, loving, caring, family environment that was not part of a chain of Nursery’s.

Susie's childcare experience dates back to 1993, where she acquired her experience at a Day Nursery in Knutsford before gaining her required NNEB childcare qualification. Bramble Lodge Day Nursery was founded during 2000, in response to an awareness of the growing demand for high quality day care and pre-school education in the area. Susie is currently working towards a degree in Early Years and the Deputy Manager Gillian is working towards the NVQ level 4 and 5 in Leadership and Management.

Susie's three children attended the Nursery and have since moved on to primary school in Lymm. We therefore feel during the time they attended the Nursery, we built on that family enviroment to meet the children's daily needs while they are in our care. As Susie personally recruits all the Nursery practitioners, we therefore feel our nursery has a greater family approach, as Susie would never recruit anyone who was not suitable to work as a Nanny in her own home, with her three children.

We only operate the one Nursery, therefore we as owners are heavily involved in the day to day running of the nursery, actively encouraging and stimulating the family environment we all thrive to achieve within our own homes. As Susie manages the nursery on a daily basis, Linda (Susie's mother) cooks the children's meals and controls the administration, while Harry (Susie's father) attends to the building and grounds, all the family participate in the day to day running of our nursery.

Linda is qualified to RSPH level 2 Award in Healthier Food and Special Diets. We do not operate a static meal plan on a rotational basis, similar to those found in large Nursery’s, as we cook with fresh food dependant on what is available from local markets at that particular time of year.

We also operate small rooms where no child is just a number, they become part of our family while they are in our nursery environment and are encouraged to become individuals. All staff are actively encouraged to build relationships with the children’s parents, so the staff know the parents requirements for their children while they are in our care and attending Nursery.

The nursery has a spacious garden with a well-equipped outdoor play area, meaning the children are encouraged to access areas of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) outside within the garden area. We deliver the 6 areas of learning and development that are required in the EYFS in all rooms. The 6 areas are:-

Personal, Social & Emotional Development

Communication, Language & Literacy

Problem Solving, Reasoning & Numeracy

Knowledge & Understanding of the World

Physical Development

Creative Development

When you decide to place your child into Nursery, you are of course making a very important decision concerning your child's future and well-being. For any child attending Nursery for the first time, we are very aware it is not only a big step for the child, but also the parents or guardians involved. So within this period, we endeavour to ensure the transition period is as smooth as possible for all involved within this process. We offer gradual admission sessions to take place before any child's starts with us.

At Bramble Lodge our Nursery practitioners are carefully selected, not solely for their professional qualifications, but also on their ability to lovingly care for your child helping them to develop and communicate with other children. We cater for children from birth to five years of age at the Nursery, taking into account all the local authority and OFSTED regulations. All of the nurseries policies and procedures are kept on site for parents to look at. Safeguarding policies and procedures are in place.

Our aim at Bramble Lodge is to make sure every child's stay is a happy and safe one, producing a high standard of Education, Health and Safety.

We treat all children individually, meeting all of their needs and encouraging their social skills, while being within a homely & friendly environment.
